Can we normalize ugly first loaves?

My early bread was...

Dense.

Lumpy.

Heavy.

And absolutely nothing like the beautiful bread I saw online.

But it was bread.

I made it.

And eventually those ugly loaves taught me how to make better ones.

Nobody starts as an expert.

Sourdough people: how many starters or loaves did it take before you thought, "Okay...I might actually be able to do this"?
