July 12 – 16, 2027 (Monday – Friday)
9am – 1pm | Ages 4-7 Years Old

MINI HOMESTEADERS CAMP
$250 / week
July 26 – 30, 2027 (Monday – Friday)
9am – 1pm | Ages 8-11 Years Old
What if your child spent a week learning how to grow food, bake bread, preserve a harvest, care for a homestead, build useful things, and make something from scratch?
At Mini Homesteaders Camp, kids won’t just learn about homesteading.
They’ll do it.
Campers will roll up their sleeves and discover where food comes from, how things are made, and just how capable they can be when they’re given real tools, real responsibilities, and real work to accomplish.
Welcome to Hummingbird Acres
Hi, I’m Deeanne
—educator, gardener, lifelong learner, and the heart behind Hummingbird Acres.
For more than 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families as an early childhood and elementary educator. I hold a master’s degree in education, and have taught kindergarten, first grade, preschool and students with special needs. I also spent two years running my own licensed in-home daycare.
But some of the most important things I hope to teach children don’t come from a textbook.
I believe kids grow in confidence when they have the chance to do real things—dig in the dirt, plant a seed, make something with their hands, solve a problem, help someone else, get a little messy, and discover, “Hey, I can do this.”
That belief is a big part of Hummingbird Acres. We believe in raising kids who are capable, respectful, curious, helpful, and connected to the world around them. Our summer camps are an extension of that: a place where children can slow down, spend time outdoors, learn practical skills, create, explore, and experience the pride that comes from doing things for themselves.
My background as an educator shapes everything we do. Activities are designed with children’s ages, abilities, and learning styles in mind, while still leaving plenty of room for imagination, play, exploration, and good old-fashioned summer fun.
At Hummingbird Acres, we’re not looking for perfection. We’re giving kids opportunities to try, learn, grow, and discover just how capable they really are.
