FAQs
Do I need a lot of time to make this work?
No! The Homestead Collective is designed for real life—busy schedules, small spaces, and imperfect progress. We focus on small, achievable steps that fit into your routine, so you don’t have to “do it all” at once.
Do I need a big homestead or lots of land?
Not at all! This membership is for anyone who wants to incorporate homesteading skills into their life, no matter their space. Whether you have a backyard, a small garden, or just a windowsill, we help you build confidence in homesteading wherever you are.
Will this membership work for me if I’m new to homesteading?
Yes! This membership is designed for both beginners and those looking to stay consistent. You don’t need to be an expert—we’ll guide you through the process in a simple, step-by-step way so you can build skills without feeling overwhelmed.
How is this different from free homesteading content?
While free content is helpful, it often lacks structure and accountability—which leads to frustration and inconsistency. The Homestead Collective gives you a clear plan, direct support, and a community to keep you going, so you actually make progress instead of just consuming more information.
Will I Learn about raising Animals or Livestock?
Not if you don’t want too! The Homestead Collective focuses on no-pressure homesteading skills you can build without needing land or animals. While we love our furry and feathered farm friends, this community is centered around practical skills like growing food, stocking your pantry, making homemade swaps, and living more intentionally—whether you live in the city or country.
What if I don’t have time to keep up?
The Homestead Collective is not about adding more to your plate—it’s about making homesteading easier to fit into your life. You can go at your own pace and focus on what works for you without feeling like you have to do everything.
What if I try it and decide it’s not for me?
We want you to feel confident in your decision. If you join and realize it’s not the right fit, you can cancel anytime—no pressure, no hard feelings.

Welcome to the Farmhouse!
Hi, I’m Deeanne
the mom behind Hummingbird Acres and the creator of the Homestead Collective.
A few years ago, I was right where you are — overwhelmed, stretched thin, and trying to hold it all together.
I loved my family and my home, but I was tired of the chaos and constant comparison.
So, I started small.
A few pots on the porch.
A loaf of sourdough that didn’t rise.
A lot of messy attempts and late-night Googling.
Little by little, I found my rhythm — and our family life started to bloom.
Meals became simpler, days slowed down, and our home felt alive again.
That’s when I realized: simple living isn’t about perfection.
It’s about showing up, learning as you go, and finding peace in the process.
Because this isn’t about escaping real life.
It’s about finally feeling at home in it.
