Animals & Pollinators

As we dream of transitioning from a suburban homestead to a more rural one, animals are the first thing we dream of. I am so excited about the idea of raising my own flocks and herds to help feed our family.

In the meantime, we work every season to expand our pollinator gardens. In the spring we wait for the hummingbirds to return. Hunter considers them his pets and makes sure someone is going to watch them when we go away. In the late summer and early fall, we keep a close eye out for the Monarchs and raise the caterpillars so that they have the opportunity to fly to Mexico.
